Savills Law Firm Return-to-Office Survey Results

In May, the Savills Legal Tenant Practice Group reached out to the legal community to capture the pulse of their return-to-office strategies. Almost 70 firms ranging in size shared their plans.

We were surprised by a few things:

  • 60% of firms are now adopting or considering hoteling or other flexible approaches to officing their attorneys.
  • Of those, 70% are considering including partners amongst those that will not have permanent, assigned offices.
  • And, where once an attorney’s position within the firm might have driven obtaining an assigned office, only 4% are using that metric, while the majority (64%) are looking at the history of office attendance to determine who gets an office and who does not.

Tom Fulcher, Chair of the Savills Legal Tenant Practice Group, presented preliminary survey findings to the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) on May 16th. You can access the presentation by clicking here.
