Carinthia, Austria

Carinthia

Carinthia is Austria’s most southerly area, bordering Italy and Slovenia served by Salzburg airport and tiny Klagenfurt.

It doesn’t have the high slopes of the Tyrol but has enough slopes to satisfy intermediate skiers while its 200 lakes make it a summer playground too.

Highlights include Hallstatt, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the water, one hour from Salzburg and the ski slopes of Bad Kleinkirchheim.
