Managers launch more India funds

7 December 2018

The biggest fund closings in 2018 may have been for pan-Asian vehicles, but fund raising data compiled for Prospects by Property Funds Research, shows more India funds are in the market.

Managers including Everstone Capital Advisors, Godrej Fund Management and Ascendas Singbridge have launched India funds in the past 12 months, while other managers – such as Brookfield and Blackstone Group – have been buying in India for pan-Asian strategies.

Globally, real estate funds will continue to raise capital over the next five years, Preqin claims. It predicts total real estate assets under management in private funds to grow to $1.2trn by 2023, from $800bn at the end of 2017.
