Savills Sunshine Coast Team Evolving for the Future

30 May 2016

Savills continues to strengthen its presence on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with experienced long-established local property consultant Scott Gardiner now leading an expanded team servicing all aspects of the region’s property market.

Mr Gardiner has worked for Savills for more than 15 years, during which time he has consistently transacted many of the major commercial property sales and leases across the Sunshine Coast.

In recognition of his ongoing achievements and standing in the market, Mr Gardiner has been promoted to the new position of State Director, Savills Sunshine Coast.

In this new role, he will be responsible for the ongoing leadership and management of the Savills Sunshine Coast business and its growing team of property agents and specialist advisors. The agency, which was awarded Savills Queensland Office/Division of the Year for 2015, boasts the title of longest standing specialised Commercial Agency on the Sunshine Coast with a history dating back more than 20 years.

The agency team has recently been boosted by the return of Peter Capps to the Sunshine Coast, after 12 months working with Savills Industrial & Business Services in Brisbane, as well as the addition of Matthew Petersen who previously worked in Commercial Leasing and Management for LJ Hooker Commercial Mackay.

This adds further depth to the existing Savills Sunshine Coast team of Scott Gardiner, Jason O’Meara, and Jerry O’Reilly, who have worked together for 15 years and between them possess over 65 years of experience. They are aided by Derek Nissen and Daniel Ryan.

Mr Gardiner said Savills Sunshine Coast sales and leasing team offers an eclectic mix of experience and youth, two essential components of any strong and successful business.

Dustin Welch has been appointed to a new specialist Health Division, focusing on the region’s rapidly emerging health hub at Kawana, and in turn will expand his expertise in this sector, to cover the greater South East Queensland region and beyond when required.

Savills has also been actively growing its Valuation & Advisory services on the Sunshine Coast in recent years, in response to growing demand from the local market. The Sunshine Coast Valuation Team is led by Director, Dale Doyle with his team strengthened by the recent registration and promotion of Josh Dougherty to the position of Valuer.

A full-service offering, Savills Sunshine Coast is also bolstered by its Property Management team which welcomed Glynnis Henderson at the end of last year and is looking to further expand in the year ahead.

Mr Gardiner said the growth of the Savills Sunshine Coast business reflected the renewed confidence in the local property market on the back of rising construction activity and investment.

The Sunshine Coast has seen strong activity in the Residential real estate market and off the back of this, it is a trend that the Commercial real estate market follows. Throw in the mix, the largest commercial infrastructure project the Sunshine Coast has ever seen, the ‘Sunshine Coast University Hospital’ which is due to open early 2017, and commercial activity is expected to be further driven in an upward swing.

Savills is committed to providing a comprehensive and market-leading property transactions and advisory service to the maturing Sunshine Coast economy as it embarks on a new future growth phase.
