Turkish retailer NU takes first UK store on Marylebone’s New Cavendish Street, London

19 September 2017

Turkish retailer NU, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has acquired its first UK store at 15 New Cavendish Street in Marylebone, London.

The brand has agreed a new 10-year lease for the ground floor and basement of the property, which is owned by Howard de Walden Estates and totals 1,500 sq ft (139 sq m).  The deal will take NU’s store total to fifteen globally, with others including Istanbul, Moscow and UAE.

Tiffany Luckett of the Central London retail team at Savills comments: “As one of Turkey’s leading retailers, NU’s decision to choose Marylebone for a new flagship store reflects that fact that London remains a top global destination for brands of  this calibre.”

Hunkan Tellioglu, founder of NU, adds: “We are excited to be taking the next step in our global expansion plans by bringing our brand to the UK.  The profile of London as an international retail destination and mix of high quality brands in Marylebone made it an ideal choice for NU.”

Savills research shows London topped the global ranking for new luxury retail store openings in 2016.  The city saw a total of 41 new luxury openings during the year, (of which 15 were the respective brand’s first ever store in London), compared to 36 in Paris and 31 in both New York and Dubai.

Howard de Walden Estates was represented by CWM.
