Newly refurbished Bateman House now fully let, Cambridge

03 April 2017

On behalf of Trinity Hall, Savills has let the last remaining office space at Bateman House, 82-88 Hills Road in Cambridge to Bircham Dyson Bell LLP.

The multi-disciplinary UK law firm has agreed to a new lease and will occupy 491 sq ft (45 sq m) on part of the ground floor of the newly refurbished office building.

This latest deal follows significant activity at Bateman House, which has seen more than 16,644 sq ft (1,639 sq m) taken in the last 12 months, with other suites occupied by Docker, Electric Imp, Malin Life Sciences, Genestack and Intrasonics. This success follows the completion of the refurbishment works, co-ordinated by the Savills building & project consultancy team, to the building’s core areas and office space earlier this year, which took place over a staged period of 16 months.

Frankie Wood, surveyor in the business space team at Savills Cambridge, comments: “Due to a continued lack of existing city centre stock, refurbishments are becoming increasingly popular with occupiers looking for space around the Hills Road / Station Road area. It is testament to the strength of the building, location and its new profile that it is was fully let in such a short space of time.”

Paul Ffolkes Davis, Bursar at Trinity Hall comments: “This has been a very exciting project for Trinity Hall and has shown the strength of well placed assets within Cambridge city centre. It is interesting that there continues to be so much demand from technology firms, and we hope that this building will act as a successful breeding ground for ideas, innovation and the growth of the city’s excellent reputation”
