Lincoln Court to be converted to residential use, Peterborough

03 January 2017

Savills, on behalf of Whitfield (Holdings) Limited, has sold Lincoln Court on Lincoln Road in Peterborough to Buttar Construction.

Set across three storeys, the property comprises 14,212 sq ft (1,320.29 sq m) of former office space, which are set to be converted by the developers into approximately 35 to 40 flats.

In total, circa 600,000 sq ft (55,740 sq m) of office space has been sold with the intention of being converted to residential use in and around the city since Permitted Development Rights (PDR) was introduced back in 2015.

Edward Gee, associate in the business space team at Savills Peterborough, comments: “PDR continues to be a popular trend in Peterborough, partly due to its ease of access to London, with fastest train times taking around 45 minutes to reach Kings Cross. Whilst general office supply remains tight, PDR has been instrumental in absorbing excess or rundown stock and we anticipate that this influx of residential space will have a positive impact on the city.”
