B & M shops for new store at Snipe Retail Park, Ashton-under-Lyne

Aberdeen Asset Management, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has let a unit at Snipe Retail Park in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside to B&M.

The leading variety retailer has agreed a new 15-year lease for a 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) store at a rent of £14 per sq ft (£151 per sq m).  The unit is being completely refurbished before occupation by B&M, with works managed by Savills due to complete this month.

Snipe Retail Park offers 242,000 sq ft (22,482 sq m) of retail space across 15 units which are let to occupiers including B&Q, Next, Dunelm, Wren Kitchens, Currys and Argos.  It is located five miles east of Manchester city centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Charlie Greenhalgh, out of town retail director at Savills, comments: “We are pleased to have secured this deal which will see B&M open a major new store early next year, further enhancing Snipe Retail Park’s strong line up of national retailers.”

Savills also acted for Aberdeen in securing planning permission for the refurbishment.  B&M was represented by Burns Property.
