Peach Pub company acquires The Duke of Wellington, East Horsley

28 November 2016

International real estate advisor Savills, on  behalf of a private client, has sold the leasehold interest of The Duke of Wellington in East Horsley, Surrey to Peach Pub Company for an undisclosed premium.

The historic Grade II listed public house and restaurant has a ground floor of approximately 2,540 sq ft (236 sq m) and can seat up to 110 customers internally plus an additional 160 in its extensive outdoor areas.  It underwent a significant refurbishment in 2014 and also features eight letting bedrooms set around a courtyard, which are currently unused, plus a further seven staff rooms.

The deal follows the recent letting of The Punchbowl Inn near Ockley, Surrey to independent pub company Time Well Spent, which Savills secured on behalf of a private family estate.  Savills' licensed leisure team is now marketing the freehold interests of two further pubs in Surrey: The Bulls Head in Ewhurst near Cranleigh and The Cherry Tree in Rowledge near Farnham.

Chris Bickle, director in the licensed leisure team at Savills, comments: “Surrey’s pub market continues to perform strongly with high levels of activity reflecting operator demand, particularly in affluent areas like East Horsley.  We are pleased to have concluded this off market deal swiftly to Peach Pub Co.”
