Helen Collins to lead Savills Housing Consultancy

22 November 2016

Helen Collins is to step up and assume the leadership of Savills Housing Consultancy.

Helen – a former president of the Chartered Institute of Housing and executive director at Bromford Housing – will succeed Mervyn Jones from 1 January 2017.

Mervyn has led Savills Housing Consultancy for 11 years and will continue to work as a senior adviser to the business on a part-time basis as he pursues his academic interests.

Helen, who has been a director at Savills since 2012, said: ‘I am delighted to be offered this opportunity to build on the great work of Mervyn and my colleagues at Savills.

‘It comes at a time of great change but also great opportunity for the housing sector, and Savills Housing Consultancy will be there to help housing providers explore all the options. I am very much looking forward to getting stuck in.’

Mervyn Jones, head of Savills Housing Consultancy, said: ‘There has never been a dull moment in my time to date at Savills and I am confident this will remain the case in my new role.

‘I have greatly enjoyed leading the team and thank them for all their hard work. It has been a pleasure working with Helen these past few years and I look forward to supporting her as she takes the team forward.’

Robert Grundy, head of housing at Savills, said: ‘I can’t thank Mervyn enough for what he has achieved. He has done a fantastic job of leading and building the housing team, and especially in creating the stock rationalisation business.

‘There have been many successes and I am pleased Mervyn will continue to undertake consultancy work with selected clients and act as a senior adviser to Savills. Helen takes on leadership of the team at an exciting time for the housing sector.’
