Savills, on behalf of Sue & Robin Hawkins, has sold Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club in Exeter to The Club Company. The hotel had a guide price of £11.75 million.

The 4 star, 56 en-suite bedroom country house hotel and spa, is set in 248 acres (100.33) hectares and has two golf courses: The Acorns and The Oaks.  A driving range and clubhouse with conferencing facilities complete the golf offering. The hotel’s leisure club, which is open to the public, is comprised of a gym with fitness and dance studios, pool and sauna facilities and six treatment rooms. There are also five self catering lodges, two restaurants, football pitches and tennis courts included on the site.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Woodbury Salterton, 10 miles east of Exeter and six miles from Exmouth railway station. Local attractions include the Jurassic Coast and Crealy Adventure Park.

Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, comments: “We are delighted to have sold the Woodbury Park Hotel and Golf Club for our client. Over the years it has built up a great reputation as a well established destination, with visitor numbers boosted by the extensive golf and leisure facilities on offer.”

OTB Eveling solicitors in Exeter acted for Mr & Mrs Hawkins in the sale of their business.
