Joint Venture invests £3.7 million in office refurbs on Great Charles Street, Birmingham

27 July 2016

Dunedin Property and Angelo Gordon have invested £3.7 million in office refurbishment schemes at Lombard House and Charles House in Birmingham, with the works project managed by international real estate advisor Savills.

Lombard House has seen 28,000 sq ft (2,601 sq m) of office space stripped back to reveal original features, parquet flooring and traditional radiators while the external facade and roofs have also been refurbished.  The reception area has been enlarged to three times its former size and incorporates flexible meeting and break out space.

At Charles House, 16,000 sq ft (1,486 sq m) of its 34,000 sq ft (3,159 sq m) total space has benefitted from improvements including the creation of a boutique-style reception, a new VRF heating and cooling system and bookable meeting rooms.  Both properties are located on Great Charles Street, within Birmingham’s Central Business District, the Jewellery Quarter and retail core.

Nick Taylor, building consultancy director at Savills, comments: “Dunedin and their JV partners Angelo Gordon have committed significant capital expenditure to transform these properties and create high quality office space and other amenities in line with the expectations of modern occupiers.”

GVA and Lambert Smith Hampton are letting agents at the properties.
