08 July 2016

Wincanton, represented by international real estate advisor Savills, has let the East Anglian Freight Terminal in Felixstowe to Marexport.  The deal is part of an ongoing review of the 200 sites Wincanton has under management across the UK and Ireland.

Marexport, which is a global logistics firm,  has agreed a new five-year lease for the 154,000 sq ft (14,307 sq m) property.  The letting follows others recently carried out by Wincanton in Ellesmere Port, Wirral and Dublin.

Ian Henderson, group property director at Wincanton, comments: “We are continually reviewing our properties to make sure we are utilising every square foot in the best way possible. Working with Savills, we will continue to watch market trends and tailor our portfolio accordingly.”

Stuart Murray, industrial director at Savills, adds: “This deal forms part of Wincanton’s ongoing strategy to extract the greatest value from its sizeable property portfolio.  We are also in the process of supporting Wincanton with the acquisition of new, strategically located distribution space to accommodate its expanding customer base.”

Wincanton is the largest British logistics business, providing supply chain support and consultancy to some of the UK’s leading businesses. Savills advises the firm on acquisitions, disposals, asset management, landlord and tenant liaison and a range of other property services across the UK and Ireland.
